Beautification Project

"Building Curb Appeal" is a project that began almost two years ago.  Specifically, EBCCS wanted a "makeover" for the front of our building.  First, we received a generous donation from a very special benefactor for new front doors.  This started the project propelling forward.  M. Gerardi Construction began the construction this past August with the stairs and wall uplift to the two tiered columns that were most generously sponsored by our founding four parishes:  Most Holy Redeemer, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (through the Friends of EBCCS), Sacred Heart, and Our Lady of Assumption.  Our shield, which has been most graciously donated by Ms. Manfredonia and her family, is spectacular.

The donations that have been coming in are making our dreams a reality!  As you can see from the new pictures below the archway, some fence sections, and a walkway gate have arrived.  There is more to come in the Spring of 2008, but we are progressing nicely due mainly to the following special benefactors for their generous donations:  Dave Freeley, Dr. Richard Chrystal, Joe Gerardi, James Censale, Florence Campanaro, Joe Ruggiero, Carmen Monks, Paul Scapicchio, and Marie & Norbert Sybertz.

In addition, donations totaling almost $3000, have also been given in memory of Josephine Carlton, a woman who had been devoted to our school for many years.  Father Wayne Belschner expressed:  "Josephine was an ordinary woman who did extra-ordinary things."  Her legacy of giving will remain on at EBCCS, and she will be honored with the dedication of the new flagpole, a fitting tribute for a woman who was so patriotic.  Josephine passed away in November, but will be remembered here at EBCCS for her constant volunteerism and all that she had contributed over the years.

We are in the midst of the Second Phase of the ground breaking brick campaign.  The second wave of bricks are on order and will be laid down as soon as the winter chill leaves the ground area workable.  We are still accepting donations for the purchase of bricks and a few larger ticket items.  You can access the following link for an application form:  Curb Order Form.

The following most recent pictures were taken on January 24, 2008.  There will be a formal dedication in the Spring!  More information to follow.
